SULE LAMIDO UNIVERSITY OPENS 2026/2027 POST-UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY SCREENING REGISTRATION; SEE ELIGIBILITY, COURSES, FEE, AND APPLICATION PROCESS


Sule Lamido University (SLU), Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) online screening exercise for prospective undergraduate students.

According to the admission notice released by the Office of the Registrar, the screening exercise is open to candidates who selected the university as their first-choice institution during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as qualified Direct Entry applicants.

The university also stated that candidates who did not initially choose Sule Lamido University as their first-choice institution but scored the required minimum UTME mark may still apply after completing a change of institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Prospective applicants are advised to carefully review the eligibility requirements, programme-specific cut-off marks, registration procedure, payment instructions, and important deadlines before submitting their applications.

Eligibility Requirements for the Screening Exercise

Sule Lamido University outlined separate admission requirements for UTME and Direct Entry candidates.

Requirements for UTME Candidates

To qualify for the online screening exercise, applicants must:

  • Obtain at least five relevant credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent.

  • The required credits must include English Language and Mathematics.

  • Candidates may present their O'Level results in not more than two sittings.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

Direct Entry applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of Lower Credit in the National Diploma (ND).

  • A minimum of Merit in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).

  • At least 7 points in the IJMB Advanced Level programme.

The university also noted that the Direct Entry cut-off point for all programmes is 7 points.

Candidates Who Did Not Choose SLU Initially

Applicants who did not select Sule Lamido University as their first-choice institution but scored 150 or above in the 2026 UTME are eligible to apply after changing their institution to SLU through JAMB and selecting any of the available programmes.

Registration Period

The university announced that online registration for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates will:

  • Begin on Monday, July 27, 2026

  • Close at midnight on Sunday, August 30, 2026

Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline, as late applications will not be accepted.

Screening Registration Procedure

Applicants should complete their registration by following these steps:

Step 1

Visit the Sule Lamido University website at www.slu.edu.ng, navigate to the admissions section and select the online application portal, or visit:

admissions.slu.edu.ng

Step 2

Log in using:

  • UTME Registration Number and UTME score (for UTME applicants), or

  • Direct Entry number, state of origin, and gender (for DE applicants).

Applicants are also required to upload a recent passport photograph.

Step 3

Update all personal information accurately on the application portal.

Step 4

Provide O'Level examination details (maximum of two sittings) and upload a clear scanned copy of the SSCE result or statement of result for UTME applicants.

Step 5

Direct Entry candidates should upload both their SSCE result and A'Level qualification.

Step 6

Proceed to the payment section by selecting "POST-UTME Payment" and clicking "Pay Now."

Applicants may pay directly with their bank card or download a payment schedule for payment through a commercial bank, debit card, or the Remita platform.

The university fixed the Post-UTME/Direct Entry Screening Fee at ₦2,000 only, excluding applicable Remita charges.

Step 7

After successful payment, applicants should generate, download, and print their acknowledgement slip as evidence of successful registration.

Documents Required During Registration

Candidates who are eventually admitted are expected to present both original copies and photocopies of the following documents:

  • Acknowledgement Slip

  • Evidence of Payment

  • UTME Result or Direct Entry Registration Slip

  • SSCE Statement of Result

  • Two recent passport photographs with white background

  • Certificate of Indigeneship

  • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age

  • A'Level Statement of Result (Direct Entry applicants only)

Important Notices to Applicants

The university issued several important instructions for prospective candidates.

Applicants who intend to change either their institution or course through the JAMB Green Card platform must complete the process within the official registration period, which runs from Monday, July 27, 2026, to midnight on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Candidates are also reminded to ensure that all their academic credentials are properly uploaded to their JAMB profile, as failure to do so may affect admission processing.

Furthermore, the university warned that any candidate who fails to complete the online screening registration within the stipulated period will not be considered for admission into Sule Lamido University for the 2026/2027 academic session.
