LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY JUPEB Admission 2026/2027: Application Opens for LASUSBAS Programme, Requirements, Fee, Exam Date and Deadline





Lagos State University (LASU) has announced applications for admission into its School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAS) JUPEB Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The one-year programme is designed to prepare qualified candidates for admission into 200 Level degree programmes at LASU and other universities affiliated with the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB).

According to the admission announcement, the programme will commence in September 2026 and run through August 2027. The LASUSBAS programme will be held at the LASUSBAS Campus, ASCON Road, Topo, Badagry, Lagos.

Prospective applicants are advised to take note of the admission requirements, application fee, qualifying examination date and closing date before applying.

LASU JUPEB Programme 2026/2027

The LASUSBAS JUPEB programme is an intensive academic programme intended to prepare students for progression into the second year of undergraduate degree programmes.

Students admitted into the programme will undertake their studies for one academic session and will subsequently sit for the JUPEB examination at the end of the programme.

Successful candidates may then proceed to 200 Level, subject to the applicable requirements and course allocation by the University.

The programme is available for candidates interested in areas including Sciences, Arts, Social Sciences and Management Sciences.

LASUSBAS JUPEB Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the LASU JUPEB programme are required to possess:

  • A minimum of five (5) O'Level credit passes in relevant subjects.
  • The required O'Level credits must include English Language and Mathematics.

Candidates who satisfy the admission requirements will be invited to participate in a written qualifying examination.

Documents Required for the Qualifying Examination

Candidates invited for the qualifying examination are expected to come with the following documents:

  1. National Identification Number (NIN) Slip
  2. Birth Certificate
  3. O'Level Result
  4. One passport photograph

Applicants should ensure that the names appearing on their NIN, Birth Certificate and O'Level Result are the same.

The University also states that awaiting results are not accepted for the programme.

LASU JUPEB Application Fee

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira).

The payment is to be made online through the designated LASU platform:

www.lasu.edu.ng/foundation

Successful candidates who are offered admission will also be required to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand Naira).

Applicants should therefore take note that the application fee and acceptance fee are separate payments.

LASUSBAS JUPEB Application Deadline

The closing date for applications is:

Friday, 4th September 2026

Interested and qualified candidates are advised to complete their applications before the stated deadline.

Candidates who meet the admission requirements and are invited for the qualifying examination should note the following details:

Candidates attending the examination are expected to come with the required documents listed by the University.

How Students Progress to 200 Level

Students admitted into the LASUSBAS programme will sit for the JUPEB examination at the end of the academic session.

The University will determine the course allocated to each student, with allocation based on areas of study such as Sciences, Arts, Social Sciences and Management Sciences.

Candidates who successfully complete the programme and proceed into degree programmes at 200 Level will be required to purchase the Direct Entry JAMB Form.

The University further states that students who fail the programme may be permitted to repeat it, subject to the payment of the necessary fees.

Students who voluntarily withdraw after being admitted should also note that requests for a refund of school fees will not be entertained.

Hostel and Transportation Services

LASU says it provides hostel accommodation and transportation services for the programme.

However, hostel spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the admission information.

Prospective students who require accommodation may therefore need to take this into consideration when making their plans.

When Will LASUSBAS Lectures Begin?

The admission information states that lectures start immediately.

The programme itself is scheduled to commence in September 2026 and continue until August 2027.
