Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 online admission screening exercise for Direct Entry (DE) candidates seeking admission into the institution. The screening is mandatory for eligible Direct Entry applicants and will run from 12th September to 26th September 2026 at 12 midnight.
The exercise covers candidates who obtained the JAMB Direct Entry Form and selected LASU as their first-choice institution, including eligible LASU Foundation (JUPEB) candidates. Applicants are expected to complete the payment, registration and online self-screening within the specified period.
Who Can Apply for LASU Direct Entry Screening?
The university stated that all Direct Entry candidates seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic session are required to participate in the online screening exercise.
Applicants must have obtained the Direct Entry Form from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and selected Lagos State University as their first-choice institution.
LASU Foundation (JUPEB) candidates are also included among those eligible to participate. For Direct Entry admission, the university specifies that only LASU Diploma is acceptable, except for NCE candidates seeking admission into Faculty of Education programmes.
Candidates of Lagos State origin who have already established their claims before the university's Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) will have their claims automatically validated during the online screening process.
Courses Available for the 2026/2027 Session
LASU has made it clear that Direct Entry applicants can only select from the accredited programmes listed for the academic session, provided they meet the relevant admission requirements.

O'Level Requirements for LASU Direct Entry Screening
Applicants must have five O'Level credit passes in subjects relevant to their proposed course, obtained in not more than two sittings.
The university specifies an exception for Medicine and Dentistry, which requires O'Level results from only one sitting. However, Dentistry does not appear among the courses listed in the supplied 2026/2027 Direct Entry programme list.
Applicants interested in Engineering who intend to combine two O'Level sittings must have six credits, including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, two other science subjects and any other subject.
For Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering, a credit in Further Mathematics is additionally required.
English Language is compulsory for admission into all LASU programmes.
Applicants must also upload their O'Level results to JAMB CAPS before the admission screening exercise closes. Results from examinations taken after July 2026 will not be accepted.
How to Register for the LASU 2026/2027 DE Screening
The registration process begins on the LASU website at lasu.edu.ng. Applicants should follow these steps:
- Visit lasu.edu.ng.
- Select Student and click New Applicants.
- Choose UTME/DE Screening.
- Click DE CANDIDATE LOGIN.
- Enter the JAMB registration number and surname, then submit.
- Select Make Payment (Admission Screening).
- On the payment page, enter the JAMB registration number.
- Choose Admission Screening Fee as the description.
- Select Ojo as the campus and Student as the category.
- After payment, return to the dashboard.
- Select Start Admission Screening.
- Choose the appropriate Mode of Entry.
- Enter the transaction ID used for the payment.
- Submit the information and proceed with the self-screening exercise.
The university allows candidates to repeat the process where corrections or updates are required, although such subsequent corrections or screening attempts will require payment.
Personal Information Applicants Must Provide
During the online self-screening, applicants will be required to supply personal and contact information, including their surname, first and middle names, date of birth, gender, country, state of origin, local government area, personal email address, phone number and contact address.
Details of the parent or guardian must also be entered, including the person's name, telephone number and address. Candidates are additionally required to indicate whether they have a physical disability.
After saving the personal information, applicants will select their preferred course, indicate the number of O'Level sittings and enter the required O'Level results.
Before submitting the form, candidates must carefully review the information entered and use the “I Certify” option to confirm its accuracy. LASU states that the screening decision will be based solely on the information supplied by the applicant, making accuracy at this stage important.
Screening Result and Grading System
Following successful completion of the online screening, candidates will be redirected to the Screening Homepage, where they can enter their DE registration number and select DOWNLOAD RESULT to generate their screening report.
LASU will assess candidates through a Point Grading System based on their UTME score and SSCE or equivalent grades in the five best relevant subjects for their chosen programme.
The university directs applicants to consult the 2026 JAMB brochure for the relevant subject combinations. The brochure is available through jamb.gov.ng and ibass.jamb.gov.ng/ebrochure.html.
Important Submission for Direct Entry Candidates
All Direct Entry applicants are expected to submit copies of their online Admission Screening Report and notification of Diploma (LASU Diploma)/NCE Result at the Admission Annex/Liaison Office, Room 7, Administrative Block II.
Candidates of Lagos State origin must also have their indigene claims established through the IIVC before proceeding with the online screening, as those claims will undergo automatic validation.

The university has fixed the registration and payment period at two weeks, running from 12th September 2026 to 26th September 2026 at 12 midnight.
