The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, has warned prospective students, students, staff, parents, alumni and members of the public against relying on unauthorised social media accounts, pages, groups or online platforms claiming to represent the Institute.
In a disclaimer dated August 28, 2026, the Institute said several social media platforms are operating without its formal approval or verification and should not be considered reliable sources of information about AFIT.
According to the management, information concerning admissions, academic programmes, examinations, fees, events, appointments, policies and other official matters should be obtained only through the Institute's website, verified social media platforms or other recognised communication channels.
AFIT stated that it would not be responsible for the accuracy or consequences of information, advertisements, admission offers or payment requests circulated through unofficial platforms. Members of the public were therefore advised to verify such information before taking action or making payments.
The Institute also cautioned individuals and organisations against using its name, logo, identity, photographs or other institutional materials to create or operate social media platforms without proper authorisation.

The Institute urged members of the public to report suspected fraudulent, misleading or impersonating social media accounts to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information through 09052473254, 09129866304, 08155559571 or 09074411999.
AFIT reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely, accurate and transparent information through its authorised communication channels.
