The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), has commenced applications for admission into its 2026/2027 Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Foundation School Programme.
The one-year programme, coordinated by the University's Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), is designed to prepare candidates for Direct Entry admission into FUTO and other universities in Nigeria and abroad.
Prospective applicants who meet the admission requirements are invited to submit their applications through the University's official portal.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must possess a minimum of five O'Level credit passes obtained in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB in not more than two sittings. The required subjects include:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Biology
- Other relevant subjects applicable to the candidate's intended course of study.
Candidates applying for the MBBS programme must have at least five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology obtained in one sitting.
The University also stated that awaiting results will not be accepted for admission into the programme.

- Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics (CMP)
These combinations apply to various academic programmes, including:

- Select the JUPEB Application portal and complete the online application.
The University advised candidates to carefully follow all application instructions, ensure they choose the correct subject combination, and provide their names exactly as they appear on their National Identification Number (NIN) slip.
FUTO also reminded applicants that successful candidates will be required to register for the 2027 JAMB Direct Entry admission exercise at the appropriate time.
