AE-FUNAI EXTENDS 2026/2027 POST-UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY REGISTRATION (DETAILS)


Prospective candidates seeking admission into Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, now have additional time to complete their applications, as the University has extended the registration period for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise.

According to an official notice issued by the University, the registration deadline has been moved to Friday, August 14, 2026, giving eligible applicants more time to submit their applications and complete all necessary admission requirements.

Who Can Apply?

The screening exercise is open to candidates who:

  • Scored 150 or above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  • Selected AE-FUNAI as their first-choice institution during JAMB registration.

Candidates who did not initially choose AE-FUNAI but wish to gain admission into the University are also eligible to apply. However, such applicants must first complete a Change of Institution and/or Course on the JAMB portal before the new registration deadline.

The same condition applies to Direct Entry (DE) applicants.

Programme-Specific Minimum Screening Scores

While the general eligibility score is 150, some programmes require higher UTME scores. These include:

  • Law – 230
  • Medicine and Surgery – 250
  • Nursing Science – 240
  • Medical Laboratory Science – 210
  • Computer Science – 180
  • Banking and Finance – 170
  • Mass Communication – 170
  • Criminology and Security Studies – 170
  • Mechanical Engineering – 160
  • Mechatronics Engineering – 160
  • Electrical/Electronics Engineering – 160
  • Anatomy – 160
  • Physiology – 160
  • Microbiology – 160
  • Other approved programmes have a minimum screening score of 150.

Candidates are advised to confirm the admission requirements for their preferred courses before submitting their applications.




Registration Procedure

Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₦2,000.

To apply:

  1. Visit the official application portal: https://apply.funai.edu.ng
  2. Enter your JAMB Registration Number to verify your profile.
  3. Provide a valid email address and phone number.
  4. Verify your email using the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your inbox.
  5. Transfer the full application fee to the designated account provided on the portal.
  6. Click "I have made payment" after completing the transfer.
  7. Complete the registration process and check your email for the registration acknowledgement.

Screening Method

AE-FUNAI stated that admission screening for the 2026/2027 academic session will be conducted through an internal assessment of candidates' academic records, rather than a physical screening examination.

Upload O'Level Results on JAMB CAPS

The University advised all applicants to ensure that their O'Level and, where applicable, Direct Entry credentials are uploaded on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before Friday, August 14, 2026.

Applications without the required credentials on JAMB CAPS will not be processed.

Additional Admission Guidelines

The University also highlighted the following:

  • Applicants seeking admission into Medicine and Surgery, Law, Nursing Science, and Medical Laboratory Science must possess the required O'Level credits in one sitting.
  • Candidates should ensure they meet the UTME subject combination and O'Level requirements for their chosen programmes.
  • Applicants who need assistance with registration can visit the University's CBT Centre (Zone A) or the Centre for Educational Services (JUPEB/Pre-Degree School), Aguogboriga Estate, Abakaliki.
  • Candidates are encouraged to use active and accessible phone numbers during registration to receive important admission updates.
  • Any applicant found to have submitted false information at any stage of the admission process will be disqualified.
