Candidates who participated in the Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki admission screening exercise can now begin checking their admission status, as the University has commenced uploading the names of successful applicants to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The development marks the beginning of the admission process for qualified candidates seeking admission into the institution. Applicants are advised to monitor their admission status regularly through the JAMB CAPS portal and take the necessary steps once they receive an admission offer.
Accept Admission on JAMB CAPS First
Candidates offered provisional admission are required to accept their admission on JAMB CAPS before proceeding with any payment or registration on the University's portal.
The University emphasized that failure to accept the admission on JAMB CAPS may affect the admission process.

Important Information for Admitted Candidates
EBSU advised candidates that all payments relating to acceptance fees and school fees must be processed only through the University's official portal.
The institution warned that payments made through unauthorized platforms or directly on Remita outside the University's portal will not be recognized.
The University also explained that admission does not automatically guarantee registration. Registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and admitted candidates are expected to complete the registration process within the period approved by the institution.
Candidates who fail to register within the stipulated timeframe may only proceed after obtaining the University's approval for revalidation. Payments made outside the approved registration schedule will not be refunded.
Required Documents for Documentation
After paying the non-refundable acceptance fee and obtaining the official EBSU Bursary receipt, admitted candidates should report to the University's Admission Unit with the following documents:
- Original JAMB Result Slip
- Original O'Level result(s) (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB)
- Original Pre-Degree result (where applicable)
- Original Acceptance Fee Acknowledgement Slip

Candidates are encouraged to complete all admission formalities promptly and continue checking both the JAMB CAPS and the EBSU admission portal for further updates regarding the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
